Personality:
Living in and out of adoption centers all of her life, Luna's personality is pretty subdued. Because she never really got the chance to be a kid, she still has childish tendencies and sometimes asks questions that a child would ask any adult nearby. Her parents died when she was just a newly-hatched baby, so she doesn't really remember them at all. She still has one earring her mother wore, but she doesn't wear it herself; she just keeps it in a safe box that she had designed to withstand most natural disasters. Her other important stuff is also in there, like an old blanket she associates with her father and a pin her trainer gave her the day she was adopted.
Luna's personality changes depending on whom she's speaking to. She's generally a mix between too-talkative and energetic plus eerily silent and observational. The more comfortable she is around you, the more questions she will ask and the more she will talk. If she's just met you, she may try to strike up a conversation with you... if she wants to. It all depends on her initial vibe of you and how exactly she is feeling on any given day. She has good days and bad days like everyone does, and on her good days she tends to be a bit more talkative and more likely to ask questions, as she's rather curious and inquisitive by nature.
Luna sometimes struggles with trusting others. The scar that runs from her right ear to the bottom of her eye was given to her by an abusive pokemon she ran into in the wild. She has struggled with being cheery and happy in life with this mindset, though now that she's found her trainer, she's a lot better off than she used to be.
Overall, Luna is still figuring herself out. She knows she likes to be active and stay entertained, but that doesn't mean she has to be leaving her house 24-7. She enjoys time alone, as well, and often needs that quiet time to recharge her metaphorical batteries and then be able to chat up anyone else she wishes to at a later time. She loves her trainer Taya with all her heart, and hopes that through knowing her she might finally come to know herself better.
Feelings About Being Adopted:
Luna stared out the window drearily. She sighed. Her ears drooped and her tail sagged. She wondered when she'd be adopted - she was currently in-transit to another adoption center in Cabell. In and out of adoption centers her whole life, she wondered if she'd ever find a trainer that was right for her. Whenever she'd get close to finding someone, her powers would act up as she'd get excited and then... the trainer would dart off quick as a whip and never be seen again. To date, she'd accidentally fried the plaster of the adoption building, blown a door off of its hinges and into tiny shards of wood, levitated both herself and the potential trainer five feet off of the ground, and almost blinded the trainer by her eyes emitting some strange turquoise light. She still wasn't sure what her powers were, exactly, and was still figuring out how to control them... and always, every time a trainer showed up, they'd "ooh" and "ah" over her amazing pelt and beautiful coloration. But then the powers would act up again, even after Luna's desperate attempts to keep them hidden and under control, and POOF! Everything would go back to normal. Luna alone or being transported to another adoption agency after the prior one had had enough of her, or signing paperwork with a pawprint, signing over medical help and therapy to any potential trainer too scarred by her powers. She never had to pay for such work, of course - the adoption centers would always foot the bill, as the law dictated in that land. Still, Luna found herself depressed and sad, wondering if she was doomed to a life alone.
Sure, she could leave the adoption center any time she wanted. Pokemon weren't required by any laws to be registered to a trainer or an owner. They weren't required to serve roles as pets or companions. But Luna had always felt a draw to children and had always wanted to serve a human master, be they child or adult. She was nearing a point in her short life, however, where she knew she'd have to just give up and give in, probably making her way in the wild with other Pokemon who didn't want owners or trainers.
They arrived at their destination. The kind old woman opened the door and Luna jumped out of the vehicle, making sure her fluffy tail was out of the way before it slammed shut behind her. She sighed once more, walked up the steps, and the old woman hobbled along behind her. A small pidgey was atop her shoulder, its brilliant coloring and cheerful voice filling the air with happy vibes.
Luna waited at the door and the old woman opened it. Both her bones and the door seemed to creak in unison, and Luna cringed at the sate of disrepair of this new adoption center. Paint was peeling off of the walls and the floors had a few singed spots. She suddenly perked up, though, thinking to herself, 'If this place is such a dump, there's no way my magic powers will ever ruin it beyond what it already looks like now!'
She trotted into the adoption room and saw all the rest of the eevees, eeveelutions, and Pokemon gathered around. She smiled at the human who had walked through the doors who was trying to chat up a flareon with limited success. The poor thing just sneezed and fire erupted everywhere. Instead of being offended or scared, the human laughed, patted the flareon on the head, and moved on to the next Pokemon in the room. Eventually, she came to Luna.
"Hello," she said quietly. "What's your name?"
"Luna Nyx, but my mother used to call me Nox."
"Like the night," the human said with a smile.
Luna's eyes widened and her ears perked up. "You... you can understand me? Most people just hear me yelling 'eevee' all the time."
The human reached out her hand. "My name is Taya. You're my first Pokemon."
Luna gingerly put her paw into her new trainer's outstretched hand, feeling completely at ease for the first time in her life and looking forward to being able to spend all of her time with her new trainer.
What was one hard time your eevee(lution) had to face? How did they pull through it? (min. 200 words)
One of Luna's ordeals was her first battle. She'd followed her orders as well as she could, but not having trained enough, she was terrified of losing. She'd memorized everything she'd read in the books in her trainer's house, and knew that her trainer believed in her, but even doing the moves she was demanded to, she found herself losing strength quickly.
"Luna, use Tail Whip!"
Luna tried, but tripped over her front paws.
"Luna, use Growl!"
It was not effective.
"Luna... uh... use..."
"Use what?" she muttered, panting from exertion from her fighting the large Grimer in front of her, ooze and muck dripping down its slimy body.
Finally, her trainer yelled out, "Luna, use headbutt!"
She tried, but her head sunk into the Grimer's body. She pulled it out and smelled a foul stench, recoiling away from the creature.
Her trainer was biting her fingernails. "Um... uh... Luna, use... Reflect?"
It worked. The Grimer shot out a spew of slime, which bounced off of Luna's shield and onto itself. It grumbled miserably.
Luna smiled. "Maybe this isn't so bad," she murmured.
"Luna, use Pay Day."
Luna was confused. "Use... what? I've never even heard of that move!"
The trainer's eyes widened. "Oh no. She's not at a high enough level..."
They were both helpless as the Grimer washed its way over to them, getting closer and closer and closer to Luna with a gurgling gulp every few seconds -
"Luna, Run!"
She did as requested, turned tail, and bolted out of there. Once safely away from the battle, her sides heaving, she looked at her trainer, her eyes downcast. "I'm sorry," she said. "I didn't know what you were talking about with that last command."
"It's okay," she said, rubbing her eevee's head gently. "You're all good. We just need to practice more. For your first battle, that wasn't too bad. Now c'mon. Let's get you home and have you rest for a bit. You'll need your energy for future battles."
What does your eevee(lution) cherish most in life? (min. 200 words)
Luna cherishes her Everstone more than anything else in life.
When she was a very small eevee, shuffled around from place to place as she was never able to find a trainer, she often wondered if she would ever get to evolve. All of her older friends had found trainers and had evolved into either beautiful beasts or scary looking creatures, but she was the one always left behind. The one who never evolved, as she never had a trainer to help her get to that upper echelon or reach her peak purpose in life. She'd heard rumors of items granting a single evolution to the pokemon who used them, but she didn't think it wise to dabble in dark arts she wasn't familiar with. Luna hadn't even grasped her own powers yet, and wasn't confident enough in her own abilities, let alone the weird items whose claims were dependent upon some rumor mill!
When she finally found her trainer, Luna was ecstatic for a variety of reasons: no more would she be shipped off to failed adoption places. No more would she have to deal with the feeling of being unwanted. Never again would she feel that loneliness inside of her that welled up and threatened to overcome her. AND FINALLY, she would be able to evolve!
But when she studied the materials her trainer had read up on to understand pokemon a bit better, Luna found herself more confused than ever. One day, she hopped up next to her trainer, who was sitting in a chair reading.
Luna tilted her head. "Uh... I don't want to disturb you, but I have a question," she murmured quietly.
"What's up?" Taya asked, setting the book aside.
Luna looked up at her trainer. "I've been reading a lot of books lately."
"That's great," Taya said with a smile, patting the eevee gently on the head. "The more that we read, the more we can understand the world around us, and the more empathetic we become. We also expand our source of knowledge through reading."
Luna nodded, but looked down to the ground. She didn't want to speak up and make her new trainer dislike her and send her back to the adoption agency, but she also wanted to ask the question. She didn't know what to do.
"You seem conflicted. What's up?"
Luna sighed. "I don't want you to send me away."
Taya smiled and picked her up, cradling her in her arms. "I could never get rid of you. You'll always be my little eevee, Luna. I'll never let you go... and I'd especially not toss you out over some silly question!"
"Well, it's actually a serious one." Luna smiled nervously.
"All the more reason to ask it," she insisted, the light from the windows reflecting off of her black-framed glasses.
"I've been reading about evolution."
The trainer nodded. "Since you're my first pokemon, I'm still learning about it myself. What are you wondering?"
"I don't know if I want to."
"... What aren't you sure you want to do?"
Luna took a deep breath, sighed, and then spat out the question as quickly as she could. "Do I have to evolve?"
Taya frowned. She shook her head in a double-take. "Wait, what?"
"I don't know if I want to evolve. It sounds... scary."
"It's not scary! It's more like... fulfilling your purpose. Now, you don't HAVE to evolve to fulfill your purpose, but some pokemon DO have to evolve to gain new powers and have the ability to do certain things. Evolving might seem scary at first, but it brings great benefits to both pokemon and trainer." Taya paused and thought a bit before continuing. "That being said, I know a trainer who never had his pokemon evolve. His pokemon just kept getting stronger and stronger - never evolved. They seemed to have a good life together, even without the evolutionary part of the cycle. It seems that it's a choice on both the trainer's part and the pokemon's part whether or not the pokemon evolves. Sure, it's mostly nature running its course, but it also has a great deal to do with the bond between pokemon and their trainers."
Luna nodded. After a bit of thought, she quietly said, "What if I'm content being just the way that I am?"
Taya's face changed into a pleased one. "Then I will never force that upon you. You can stay an eevee forever."
"But... but... it doesn't work like that. Don't we just change without really knowing what's going on? Just out of the blue one day... it just happens?"
Taya looked off into the distance, lost in thought. "Yeah... yeah... you have a point." Snapping herself out of it, she set Luna aside and stood up. "Let's go, Luna. We're off to the library to do some research."
And so, Taya found that if she could attain an Everstone, Luna would remain permanently an eevee. Once she'd gone on quite the quest with her pokemon to find it, she and Luna made the metal scraps that hold it in place around Luna's back left leg, where it will never leave her. Luna is grateful for such a caring and loving trainer who would go to such lengths for her, and that is why the Everstone bracelet is Luna's most cherished item, and one she would never dream of giving away.

Tell or show us your eevee going on an adventure ! (min. 200 words)
Luna went on an adventure all her own by finding a new place. One day, her trainer was sick and Luna needed to get her medicine. Because Taya didn't have anybody else around who could go and get her medication, Luna was the only one who could help her bed-ridden owner. So, off she darted to the street that would supposedly lead her to the town store. She had a map and everything. She trotted down the dirt road and hoped that she'd stumble upon someone who could help her read the map, as she'd never been very good at directions. Eventually she stumbled upon an odd-looking rock. She stared at the beautiful gem, the way it sparkled and shone in the light, its pink shininess reflecting everywhere, sending rainbows from it onto the surrounding area. Luna smiled - Taya's favorite color was pink. She'd pick it up and store it in her pouch and then take it back to her trainer so that she could feel better. That way, even if she couldn't find the medicine, she'd be able to go home with SOMETHING to show for her day out. Luna reached down and picked it up, storing it away in her pouch. Suddenly, the ground, beneath her crumbled, and she tumbled down into a dark hole. She landed on hard, compacted dirt. With a groan, she rolled over, used her magic to try to summon a few lights that floated around her as whisps that glowed blue, and glanced around the cavern. It was completely filled with gems! As she looked at her gorgeous surroundings, she was struck with a cold wind that whipped her fur around in curls. She looked ahead of her and saw the faintest glimmer of light, though it could have just been the gems reflecting back the light that she was hosting as they floated around her head.
She sighed, knew she had to get out of this situation somehow, and plodded onward. Eventually she came to the end of the cave, where it opened up into a bright sunny day on the opposite end of town. Luna smiled. "Now I have an even better story to tell Taya once I get home!" she cheered.

Tell or show us your eevee's favorite memory ! (min. 100 words)
Luna's favorite memory is her first day arriving home after being adopted. Taya was very good about opening the doors and letting Luna sniff around the place, eventually allowing her access to the living room where all the books were stored. Unknown to Taya, Luna loved to read. She sat and read for several hours, once Taya was convinced that the eevee wouldn't eat all the books she had collected over the years, and then she was good to go, picking up books and laying them in front of the smaller creature to delve into. After her reading spree was done, Luna and Taya played with each other after that, Luna jumping on top of Taya's head and Taya grabbing Luna and holding her close like she would a baby. Since Taya lived alone, it seemed that Luna was the only companion that she had. Luna found herself grateful, happy, and content to be in such a wonderful place. She couldn't believe her luck at being adopted by such a kind and caring person. She only hoped that they could stay like this for forever.
